The very unique and special is the red H3 tritium illumination which are normaly only used in goverment orders or orders from special forces units. This version of the SMW Swiss Military Watch SnR comes from a special order and overproduction for a marksman's unity. Quite for years in this special operational area, watches with H3 illumination are used for perfect reading in complete darkness. The problem about watches for sniper or marksman´s units was that the owner must cover the watch or the dial with a special velcro strap in order to prevent clearing up the own position by the "others" if they use the brighter green or blue H3 illumintion. Velcro straps has also a big problem that you hear the sound of the velcro if you want to read the time, so if you use a red H3 illumination you don´t need a velcro strap. Red H3 tubes you can read as the owner of the watch perfectly to a distance up to 1-2 meter. By the special wavelength of the red H3 illumination, the illumination is invisible from a distance of 2-3 meters and can´t be cleared up by a night vision device or warm picture device. The SMW Swiss Military Watch SnR is the first operation watch with red H3 illumination, which are normaly restricted for the marksman's units, now available in restricted number of pieces for the officially market.
